Lazaros Zigomanis has been a writer for over thirty years. He’s had stories and articles published in various print and digital journals, and three screenplays optioned.
Pride, his first YA novel, is a coming-of-age story that follows the mystery behind the emergence of a freakish Indigenous footballer in a country football league. Prior to publication, Pride was shortlisted for the 2011 Atlas Award, and one of the four winners of the 2009 Olvar Wood Fellowship Award, which involved a mentorship on the redraft from author Inga Simpson (author of Mr Wigg).
His novella, ‘The Shadow in the Wind’, was a semi-finalist in the 2017 Screencraft Cinematic Short Story Contest, and the adapted screenplay a semi-finalist in the 2017 Screencraft Family-Friendly Screenplay Contest.
